Some of the common types of radars encountered in daily life include:
Air traffic control radars are used to track the location of aircraft and to control their landing at airports. They are generally located at elevated positions where the beam is inaccessible to persons on the ground [THAT IS INCORRECT – SEE ASR RADAR THAT SCANS HILLSIDES IN CALIFORNIA, AT SITES OF AUTISM CLUSTERS]. Typical air traffic control radars can have peak powers of 100 kW or more[THAT IS VERY MISLEADING, THE ASR-9 TRAFFIC CONTROL RADAR HAS A BEAM PULSE OF UP TO 1300 kW, OVER 10 TIMES THAT, THE US HAS 135 OF THEM IN SERVICE], but average powers of a few hundred watts[SO WHAT, YOU CAN AVERAGE ANYTHING OVER A LONG ENOUGH PERIOD OF TIME AND MAKE IT SOUND HARMLESS]. Under normal operating conditions, these systems pose no hazard to the general public[THEY HAVE NEVER DONE A STUDY TO FIND OUT, SO THEY DON’T KNOW AND THEY SHOULD NOT MAKE THIS CLAIM][SEE PUBLIC SAFETY DOCUMENT FOR DOPPLER WEATHER RADARS WITH MANY CONCERNED SCIENTISTS-YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE CENTER OF THE 500 PAGE DOCUMENT-THEY BURIED IT]. ALSO PLEASE SEE THAT THERE ARE NOW OVER 30 PUBLISHED STUDIES THAT CLAIM THE 2.7 GHz FREQUENCY RANGE IS BAD FOR BIOLOGICAL HEALTH.
Weather radars are often co-located with air traffic control radars in remote areas at airports. They operate at higher frequencies[THAT IS INCORRECT/MISLEADING AND IS ONLY PARTIALLY TRUE FOR TDWR RADARS– 5-6 GHZ], A NEXRAD WSR-88 WEATHER RADAR OPERATES AT 2.7-3.0 GHz AND AN ASR-9 AIRPORT RADAR OPERATES AT 2.7 TO 2.9 GHz. WE HAVE 150 NEXRAD RADARS IN THE US, ALSO, THEY HAVE PUT THEM BESIDE EVERY URBAN AREA] but generally have lower average and peak powers.[THAT IS FALSE, WEATHER RADARS ARE NOW OVER 1,000 kW ALSO] As with air traffic control radars, under normal conditions, they pose no hazards to the general public.[THEY HAVE NEVER DONE A STUDY TO FIND OUT, SO THEY DON’T KNOW AND SHOULD NOT MAKE THIS CLAIM]. Military radars are numerous and vary from very large installations, which have large peak (1 MW or greater)[WE HAVE 4 MW ARSR RADARS IN THE US] and average powers (kW), to small military fire control radars, typically found on aircraft [MISLEADING, THEY HAVE LINED OUR COASTLINES WITH HIGH POWERED RADARS]. Large size radars often evoke concern in communities living around them. However, because its power is radiated over a large surface area[THAT IS INCORRECT, MANY TRACKING RADARS HAVE A THIN, PENCIL BEAM OF RADIATION], the power densities associated with these systems vary between 10 and 100 W/m2 within the site boundary[EVEN THOUGH IT IS A THIN PENCIL BEAM, THEY ARE MISLEADING YOU BY AVERAGING IT OVER A LARGER VOLUME]. Outside the site boundary RF field levels are usually unmeasurable without using sophisticated equipment[THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT IS NOT KILLING YOU]. However, small military fire control radars on aircraft can be hazardous to ground personnel. These units have relatively high average powers (kW)[MILITARY TRACKING RADARS LINING THE CALIFORNIA COAST PULSE UP TO 3,000 kW, SO THIS IS INCORRECT] and small area antennas, making it possible to have power densities up to 10 kW/m2. Members of the general public would not be exposed to these emissions because during ground testing of radars access to these areas by all personnel is prohibited. The pulses from these radars get scattered and bent in the atmosphere and reflected beams cover the entire area around the radars. THEY DON’T KNOW WHERE THE RADIATION IS ALL GOING
